The S54 is one of BMW M’s most iconic engines, but its factory exhaust character is also known for one thing: rasp. The Bomiz Equal Length Section 1 was built to solve that with intention — correcting the unequal runner length between Bank 1 and Bank 2 to balance exhaust pulses, clean up harsh frequencies, and bring out a smoother, more exotic tone from the E46 M3.

This was not built as a simple pipe replacement. It was developed through our obsessive, science-driven approach to sound, flow, and real-world driving feel. With full 2.5-inch / 63mm piping, T-304 stainless construction, and precision TIG welding, this section was designed for maximum flow, reduced rasp, zero drone, improved response, and HP/TQ gains — turning the S54 into something cleaner, sharper, and more alive through the rev range.

Designed for use with OEM European exhaust manifolds, US-spec catted manifolds, and compatible aftermarket header setups.

From the factory, the E46 M3 exhaust has an unequal length difference between Bank 1 and Bank 2 after the merge. The Bomiz Equal Length Section 1 corrects that imbalance to improve exhaust pulse harmony, reduce rasp, refine tone, and enhance response.
